A masterplan for the redevelopment of a redundant quarry site of approximately 9 acres near Faringdon, Oxfordshire, currently housing a number of poor quality B1 and B8 units – now reaching the end of their reliable life.

Two options were produced, each providing a mix of more than 100 houses and flats, laid out to take full advantage of the topography of the quarry workings, which effectively screens the houses from the nearby main road, and reduces their visibility from the open countryside to the South.

The scheme was received well by the local community and developers, but due to broader economic conditions the site is yet to be developed, although we understand it now forms part of a wider development site benefitting from a resolution to grant planning permission for 350 homes and employment uses.
